The UK Veterinary Voices Hiking Group, along with our own Rhys Jones recently embarked on another unforgettable Navigation Event in the breathtaking landscapes of Eryri National Park. Covering key locations such as Llyn Trawsfynydd, Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), and Moel Siabod, participants had the incredible opportunity to develop their navigation skills while immersing themselves in the beauty of the great outdoors.
Led by group co-founders Robyn Lowe and Dr. Paul Horwood, the event was blessed with unexpectedly brilliant weather for March, making it the perfect setting for both learning and adventure. Attendees began with a theoretical session on navigation techniques, gaining insight into essential map-reading and orientation skills. They then put their knowledge into practice, navigating the stunning terrain with newfound confidence.
This event was proudly supported by Duggan Veterinary Supplies, and we provided each participant with a backpack filled with hiking essentials to ensure they were fully equipped to embark on their adventure.
The Veterinary Voices Hiking Group was founded with the mission of fostering connection, tackling isolation, and promoting mental and physical well-being. By encouraging members of the veterinary community to step outside, build confidence, and embrace the outdoors safely, the group has become a vital support network for many.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to support this initiative – together, we are making a real difference in the lives of veterinary professionals, one adventure at a time!
