The Duggan Veterinary Supplies team was delighted to attend this year’s Irish Equine Veterinary Association (IEVA) Conference in Kilkenny — a key annual gathering for Ireland’s equine veterinary community. The event once again brought together practitioners, specialists, suppliers and industry leaders for a programme rich in clinical insight, innovation and discussion around the future of equine veterinary care.
For our team, being present at IEVA is more than simply exhibiting. It’s an opportunity to listen directly to equine vets about the challenges they face in practice, the products they depend on, and the innovations they want to see next. This year’s conference offered exactly that — a productive space to share updates and showcase some of the solutions we believe are making a real impact across equine practice.
One of the highlights at our stand was OvaCyte, our reliable and easy-to-use faecal egg count testing product. With parasite management continuing to be a major focus for equine vets, OvaCyte generated strong engagement from delegates looking for accurate, practice-friendly diagnostic tools that support responsible deworming strategies.
We also featured the Bimeda equine product range, which remains a trusted choice for practitioners seeking high-quality pharmaceuticals backed by proven efficacy. The conference offered an ideal platform to discuss updates across the range and answer questions on usage, availability and best practice.
Another area of interest was L-Mesitran, our medical-grade honey wound-care line. Equine wound management is an ever-present challenge in practice, and vets were keen to learn more about how L-Mesitran products can support faster healing, reduce infection risk, and offer a gentle yet effective option for managing a wide variety of wounds.
In addition, delegates were eager to explore Equimetrics, a technology-driven system providing advanced cardiac and performance monitoring. As equine medicine becomes increasingly data-led, Equimetrics impressed many attendees looking to integrate more objective, real-time diagnostics into their clinical approach.
Across the weekend, we valued the meaningful conversations with clinicians, the feedback on our existing offerings, and the enthusiasm around upcoming product developments. Events like the IEVA Conference remind us how important it is to remain closely connected to the vets we serve — ensuring our product range continues to evolve in line with their needs.
A sincere thank you to the IEVA organisers, speakers and delegates for another excellent conference, and to everyone who stopped by our stand. If you’d like to follow up on any of the products discussed during the event — from OvaCyte and the Bimeda range to L-Mesitran or Equimetrics — our team would be delighted to assist.
We look forward to continuing our support of Ireland’s equine veterinary community throughout the year ahead.
