Duggan Veterinary is a family owned, Guaranteed Irish and ISO accredited business and is a leading provider of medicines, instruments and consumables to the veterinary market. With a direct presence in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom markets, Duggan Veterinary Supplies also utilises other collaborations with partners in other EU and Non-EU markets.

From humble beginnings in Holycross, Co. Tipperary in 1987, Duggan Veterinary Supplies has grown exponentially, and has recently moved into brand new, purpose built, state of the art premises incorporating office space, warehousing, engineering and repairs department, conference suite, clinical skills lab and dining facilities for the growing team of 40+ highly skilled staff. The new premises is strategically and centrally located in Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

From Humble Beginnings to Cutting-Edge Facilities

Particularly impressive is the conference suite and Clinical Skills Lab. Both are used for onsite Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses. The Clinical Skills Lab is a bespoke teaching space used to deliver highly practical dry & wetlab courses to vets and nurses. This allows course participants to use the most up to date range of equipment, instruments and consumables to learn new skills and techniques guided by experienced tutors.

All our CPD opportunities including webinars can be booked on our dedicated education platform cpd.dugganvet.ie. This facilitates the creation of personal learning profiles where information for each course booked is stored, including course notes and webinar recordings and where a Certificate of Completion can be downloaded at any time; a very handy feature coming up to VCI CVE submission deadline!

Duggan Veterinary has also recently teamed up with Improve International providing the opportunity to gain a globally recognised certificate from the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS) and Harper Adams University. Improve International was founded in 1998 and has since provided continuing education to more than 20,000 veterinary practitioners and nurses across 20 countries, including the UK, Germany, Spain, the USA, Australia, and China.
This new Irish partnership stems out of the two organisations mission to support the veterinary industry with their CPD, building ongoing knowledge and confidence for those working in veterinary practices – ensuring a high level of patient care.

Together, the two organisations will offer a range of online and blended (mixture of online and face to face sessions) courses covering a range of species and subjects. Practical learning will be delivered in Thurles, and through ISVPS, will offer a consistent level of globally recognised qualifications such as…

  • Foundation Certificate (FCert)
  • General Practitioner Certificate (GPCert)
  • General Practitioner Advanced Certificate (GPAdvCert)
  • Nurse Certificate (NCert)

The ISVPS certificates have been designed to meet the needs of busy veterinary practitioners and nurses, who wish to gain postgraduate qualifications whilst working in practice.
