Last week, colleagues from across Duggan Veterinary Group came together for our annual two-day company meeting, bringing our Irish and UK teams together for an event focused on collaboration, strategic planning, and strengthening relationships.

The event began in Thurles, where colleagues headed out on a treasure hunt around Thurles, combining problem-solving, teamwork, and a little friendly competition. To round off the first day, the staff took part in company strategy sessions and collaborative discussions, sharing ideas and aligning on priorities for the months ahead.

One of the highlights of the meeting was taking time to reflect on the remarkable journey of Duggan Veterinary Group. Through a series of videos, colleagues were able to look back at the company’s beginnings in 1987, when the Duggans started the business from their family home in Holycross.

The videos captured the company’s evolution over the years, from those early days to the move into a warehouse in Holycross, and ultimately to our ever-expanding headquarters in Thurles. It was a proud moment for everyone to see how far the business has come and to recognise the vision, dedication, and hard work that have driven its continued growth.

On day two, the team travelled to the picturesque town of Killaloe for day that balanced business with fun. Alongside valuable planning sessions, colleagues put their creativity and communication skills to the test in the classic spaghetti and marshmallow tower-building challenge and other team building games. The morning concluded with an incredible performance from Steve Spade, whose impressive magic and sleight of hand kept everyone entertained and laughing. A great mornings entertainment!

The afternoon continued with a relaxing river cruise, offering everyone the chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and spend time catching up with colleagues from across the business.

Our annual company meeting is more than just an opportunity to discuss strategy. It gives colleagues from every department the chance to connect, share knowledge, celebrate achievements, and build stronger working relationships across our Irish and UK teams.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to put the ideas and plans from the two days into action. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s meeting such an enjoyable and productive event. Together, we’re building an even stronger future for Duggan Veterinary Group.
