Duggan Veterinary are delighted to celebrate its one-year anniversary of onsite CPD courses in Thurles, Co Tipperary. Over 600 delegates have been welcomed through the doors for a range of topics hosted by some of the most respected speakers in the profession. Duggan Veterinary also offer a range of free webinar topics, and as the training partnership with Improve International continues to flourish, they will host the first Improve International practical week for small animal surgery this coming November.
CPD Business Manager Sarah Keane cites the Empowering Veterinary Teams course in July this year as her personal favourite: ‘It was an amazing event, the atmosphere amongst the delegates gave it more of a social feel than an educational one, and this fits in well with our offering as there would always be a social aspect to all our on-site courses. We offer generously proportioned flexible spaces to allow delegates to interact safely, including a lecture room for theoretical sessions, as well as a state-of-the-art wet lab for practical training, fitted with fully adjustable surgical tables, each with powerful operating lights and the latest surgical equipment and instrumentation for a range of orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures. Our CPD courses also facilitate a ‘Try before you buy’ idea, where delegates can view and use a range of our larger products in situ eg. operating tables, kennels, instrument trollies, surgical lights, anaesthetic monitoring equipment, fluid pumps and much more.
All of the Duggan Veterinary onsite courses have been submitted and approved by the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI). All courses run in partnership with Improve International are certified by International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies and/or Harper Adams University.
Sarah continues: ‘With onsite facilities to host live animals, state of art Clinical Skills Lab, canteen facilities and a conference room, the possibilities are endless when it comes to topics we can bring to Irish Vets and Nurses. Our combined courses have proven to be extremely popular with a whole team approach to learning to allow maximum implementation of their new skills in practice. We strive to bring the best possible experience for our delegates ensuring both the educational and social components exceed all expectations.’
Duggan Veterinary Supplies have held over 80 courses this year, and the private hiring of facilities has proven very popular with some of the major corporate veterinary associations to aid in the upskilling of their teams.
