TUS Midlands, formerly known as AIT, hosted a special conference to mark the anniversary of 20 years of veterinary education teaching in the college. Siobhan, our CPD Co-Ordinator and past pupil, attended on the behalf of Duggan Veterinary.
On the day there were 15 trade stands to meet and chat to 100 delegates who attended lectures and wet labs on the day. It was a great experience to meet with old classmates, lecturers, colleagues, and all delegates who attended.
Overall, it was a very successful day as the Duggan Veterinary table was a hive of activity. Siobhan’s focus was on launching our new Nursing Programme, which proved very popular. This programme is aimed at newly graduated nurses and nurses who are returning to work after having left clinical practice for some time. It is a comprehensive course covering all aspects of nursing skills that are needed in daily practice.
We were also delighted to be invited back again this year to the Douglas St. Campus to represent Duggan Veterinary Supplies at their Career’s Fair. Sarah, our CPD Ed Manager and Louise, our Equipment Sales & Support Manager, spoke to the final year nursing students on the different career opportunities available to nurses within Duggan Veterinary and also about the importance of Continuous Professional Development and the range of courses offered.
We look forward to welcoming these aspiring nurses to our facilities in Tipperary in the near future.
