2 Generations of the Duggan Veterinary Supplies team was delighted to attend the 2025 AVSPNI Autumn Conference, held from 31 October to 2 November at the scenic Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen. The conference is a highlight in the Northern Irish veterinary calendar, bringing together practitioners from across the region for three days of learning, discussion and community — and this year’s event offered a particularly vibrant and engaging programme.
As suppliers to practices across both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, attending events like AVSPNI is an important part of how we stay connected to the profession. The conference provided an invaluable opportunity to meet with veterinary surgeons, practice teams, and industry colleagues in a relaxed yet highly informative setting. Across the weekend, we enjoyed conversations that helped us better understand the evolving needs of our customers — whether in farm, equine or small-animal practice.
The scientific and CPD programme was rich and varied, reflecting the broad interests of the veterinary community. Sessions spanned clinical advancements, practical case-based learning, emerging challenges and skill development across multiple species. This mix allowed delegates to tailor their learning while still sharing insights and experiences with colleagues from other sectors. Alongside the lectures, the trade exhibition buzzed with energy, with suppliers and service providers showcasing new products, technologies and solutions to support everyday practice.
One of the standout features of the AVSPNI Autumn Conference is its community spirit, and this year was no exception. The organisers created a warm, welcoming environment that balanced high-quality CPD with social connection. From family-friendly elements to evening entertainment, the atmosphere reminded us that veterinary conferences are as much about strengthening relationships as they are about sharing knowledge.
For us at Duggan Veterinary Supplies, the weekend reinforced several important themes. Practices are increasingly looking for partners rather than just suppliers — organisations who can support them not only with products, but with training, sustainability-focused solutions and responsive customer care. We were also reminded of the importance of cross-sector knowledge; with farm, equine and companion-animal practitioners in the same space, conversations naturally highlighted shared challenges and emerging trends relevant across the profession.
Sustainability and responsible practice continue to be topics of growing interest, aligning closely with our own commitments under ISO 14001 and our ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact across our operations and supply chain. It was encouraging to see this mindset increasingly reflected in discussions with delegates and fellow exhibitors.
We left Enniskillen energised by the insights gained and the connections made. Over the coming weeks, our team will be reviewing the innovations and ideas we encountered at the conference and integrating them into upcoming product updates, customer conversations and future planning. Events like AVSPNI strengthen our understanding of the profession and ensure we continue to deliver solutions that genuinely meet the needs of veterinary teams.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the AVSPNI organisers, speakers, exhibitors and delegates for such a well-run and inspiring event. If you attended and would like to continue the conversation — or if you’re curious about the products and insights we brought back — we’d be delighted to hear from you.
