This November, the Duggan Veterinary team were delighted to attend the 22nd annual Emergency & Critical Care Congress (ECC Congress) held in Leeds. Hosted by Vets Now, this premier event brought together veterinary professionals committed to advancing emergency and critical care in small-animal practice.

At Duggan Veterinary,  we’re always striving to support our customers with the very best products, training and services – especially in critical care situations where every second counts. Attending ECC Congress allowed us to:

  • Deepen our knowledge of cutting-edge ECC techniques and workflows.

  • Connect with clinicians, nurses, and thought-leaders from the UK and beyond.

  • Investigate how we can support veterinary practices with better equipment, supplies and guidance in the emergency space.

  • Bring back actionable insights to our team (and our customers) about how to deliver higher standards of care in challenging circumstances.

From our time at Congress, we’re excited to bring several themes back into focus at Duggan Veterinary:

  • Enhanced Support for ECC workflows: Whether it’s rapid triage, stabilisation equipment or advanced monitoring, practices are increasingly demanding integrated solutions. We’re refining our product portfolio and service offerings to meet that need.

  • Training & education = critical investment: The sessions reinforced that equipment alone isn’t enough – skilled staff, continuous CPD and team dynamics are equally vital. As a result, you’ll hear more from us in the coming months about CPD offerings, resources and partnership opportunities to help teams upskill.

  • Sustainability matters: Many modern practices are thinking not just about clinical efficacy, but also about environmental impact, resource efficiency and long-term value. This aligns particularly well with our own investment in sustainability (LED lighting, waste-diversion, ISO 14001) and we’re looking to translate that across the emergency care continuum.

  • Future readiness: With the “Back to the Future” trend in focus, we’re keeping a close eye on innovations such as advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive techniques, and improved inter-disciplinary workflows. We will aim to bring these into our offering and conversations with customers.

We’d like to thank the ECC Congress team at Vets Now for organising such a comprehensive and energising event, and to all the vendors, speakers and delegates who made the event so valuable.

At Duggan Veterinary, we’re now in the process of distilling all the learnings into actionable updates: new training resources, refreshed product lines, and improved service initiatives to support our veterinary customers with emergency and critical care. If you attended the Congress too, or if your practice is looking to strengthen its ECC capabilities, please reach out – we’d love to discuss what we learned, how we can support you, and any tailored solutions we might develop together.

Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued partnership in advancing animal health.
